We are going to start our new topic 'The Animal Kingdom'. It will have a science focus and we will learn about diet and teeth. But what do you know and what do you want to find out?
We'll watch this video to help get us thinking!


THE MAYANS

For our new topic, we are going to stay in South America, but go back over 3000 years to the start of the Mayan empire. We will develop skills as historians (people that study history) as we investigate this great civilization.

This week, we are going to be researching what life was like in the Mayan times. We will use these web links.









Over the next few days, we are going to get really creative. We will be composing and performing our 'rainforest' compositions (music) and then trying to create our own rainforest paintings, in the style of Guatemalan artisit, Antonio Coche Mendoza.
